Bend It Like Beckham is a comedy about never giving up on your goals and believing in yourself. Jess and Jules (Keira Knightley) both have dreams of playing professional women's football/soccer. Jess feels her goal is unattainable because of her Indian culture. Jules finds an obstacle in the form of her mother, who thinks sports aren't for girls.
